Wildfire Preparedness Update: Hospital & Emergency Department Open
Tuesday, May 10, 2022 – At Los Alamos Medical Center (LAMC), the safety of our patients, employees and community is always our top priority.
We have mobilized our incident command team in response to the Cerro Pelado fire. We are currently in the “set” phase of the New Mexico Ready, Set, Go! (RSG) program. “Set” means that the situation can change rapidly, and it’s time to be ready should an evacuation order take place. We are working closely with Los Alamos County officials to ensure we are well-coordinated in our efforts. In times like these, we must act as one team, wholly committed to the health and safety of every member of our community.
At this time, our hospital and emergency department are open, and it is safe to seek care at our facility.
We will continue to evaluate this rapidly evolving situation and keep the community informed of any operational changes.
We would like to thank our staff, Los Alamos County, Los Alamos National Laboratory and all the local agencies working tirelessly to keep our community safe, prepared and informed.
