iLos Alamos Medical Center's Infusion Therapy Center provides chemotherapy for cancer patients as well as a variety of infusion therapies for patients who have such conditions as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma and allergy. Staff also accommodate outpatients who need IV antibiotics, steroids, or other medications but wish to remain in their daily routine schedules. Visits to the unit can range from a brief stop for an injection or an all-day stay under the watchful eyes of the nursing team.
The unit is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with appointments available at other times as needed. In addition to offering excellent medical care, the team takes pride in creating a warm, healing environment by "pampering our patients" - meeting as many of their needs as possible, i.e. warm blankets, full coffee cups, and lots of juice and TLC.
