Los Alamos Medical Center Welcomes Chris Emond As Chief Financial Officer

Los Alamos, New Mexico — July 14, 2026 — Los Alamos Medical Center announced today that Chris Emond has been named Chief Financial Officer, effective Aug. 10, 2026.
“Chris brings a wealth of financial knowledge and strategic leadership to LAMC,” said Michael Covert, CEO of Los Alamos Medical Center. “We are confident his experience will help position our hospital for continued success while supporting the exceptional care our patients and community expect.”
Emond brings more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit, for-profit and government healthcare organizations, with a proven track record of delivering financial leadership and operational excellence in complex healthcare environments.
Most recently, Emond served as Market Assistant Chief Financial Officer for Lourdes Health and Trios Health, where he helped oversee financial operations and supported strategic initiatives across both hospitals. Prior to that, he served as Senior Director, Treasurer & Controller for Pend Oreille County Public Hospital District No. 1 and previously as Chief Financial Officer for Valley Hospital Association.
Emond earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Houston.

Covert also expressed his appreciation for the leadership provided during the transition period.
